He expressed confidence that the new leadership, under Prof. Yilwatda and Dr Basiru, would build upon the successes of the past and steer the APC toward even greater heights ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The emergence of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as our National Chairman and Dr Surajudeen Basiru as National Secretary marks a new era of purposeful leadership for our great party,” Barrister Tijani stated. “Their wealth of experience, dedication to the party’s ideals, and unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will undoubtedly strengthen our structures, deepen grassroots mobilisation, and ensure the continued dominance of the APC on the national stage.”
He further described Dr Surajudeen Basiru’s emergence as a proud moment for the people of Oyo State and the entire South-West region, acknowledging his intellectual depth, administrative acumen, and steadfast loyalty to the party.
“I particularly celebrate our own Dr Surajudeen Basiru, a distinguished son of Yorubaland, whose elevation to the position of National Secretary is a testament to his hard work, competence, and unwavering dedication to the APC cause. His leadership will undoubtedly bring immense value to the National Working Committee,” he added.
Barr. Tijani also commended the outgoing National Working Committee for their stewardship and the seamless transition process that ensured the success of the convention.
Barr. Tijani urged all party members, stakeholders, and supporters across the country to rally behind the newly elected executive committee, emphasising that unity and collective effort remain essential to achieving the party’s objectives and delivering on the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The task ahead of us requires the cooperation of every party faithful. With this new leadership, I am confident that our party will emerge stronger, more cohesive, and better positioned to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election and for all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections,” Barrister Tijani submitted.
