Ibadan North West is a central, highly urbanised State Constituency in Oyo State, Nigeria. Established in 1991, with its headquarters situated at Onireke Quarters, Dugbe, Ibadan.
It is bordered by Ibadan North to the North, Ibadan Northeast to the East, Ibadan Southwest to the Southeast, and Ido Local Government Area to the Southwest.
The Constituency serves as a critical economic center in Ibadan Metropolitan Area. Prominent commercial hubs such as Dugbe-Queen Cinema, Salvation-Army, Oke Padre, Old Gbagi-Ogunpa, Ifeleye Markets are located in the Constituency contributing significantly to the economy of the city of Ibadan.
Notable Chambers such as Afe Babalola, Agbaje among other solicitor companies are where people run to employ the service of legal luminaries to reclaim their right or mandate; 32FM Radio Station serve as a vital, and trusted medium, providing entertainment, news, and live information to the constituents of Ibadan Northwest.
Major infrastructural development in Ibadan such as the Lekan Salami Stadium, National Library, Nigeria Post Office etc has spanned Ibadan Northwest which will ever remain the pride of Ibadan till eternity.
It will be historically unwise if one does not make mention of the first skyrapper in Nigeria situated in Ibadan Northwest Constituency – The Almighty Cocoa House. This substantial building not only marked a radical turning point in the history of Old-Western Region but also contributed to the economic growth and development of present day Southwest Nigeria through revenues generated from exporting of Cocoa during the era of regional government in the country that gave birth to quality infrastructures like good road network, qualitative education, healthcare across the region.
The history, quality of infrastructures and economic development of Ibadan Northwest portray perfectly that the Constituency needs to change from substandard representation, which has been a bane of the constituency since the past few years.
When we are talking of efficient, quality and pro-people representation, which Ibadan Northwest State Constituency deserves through capability, competency, experience, exposure, reliability, a prominent background (academic, social and political and the likes), we are chanting no other name other than that of the influential grassroots politician, Agrotech Expert, and accomplished businessman in the state, Honourable Adams Adebayo Yusuf.
Adam is the charismatic statesman that Ibadan Northwest State Constituency deserves. He is bestowed with vast political experiences and social capital which qualify him to represent the constituents of Ibadan Northwest.
Beside his political and social experiences, Adam is the most competent among other Aspirants in All Progressives Congress (APC), and other political parties in Oyo state.. He is intellectually resourceful, physically gallant and legislatively loaded. Of course, he can never be a bench warmer in the Pace Setter lawmaking house due to the fact that he is very intelligent, brilliant, articulate, dynamic and wise in nature.
However, the party stakeholders, leaders, and members should take cognisance of this in order to select or elect the right choice for the Ibadan Northwest Constituency. Oyo APC cannot afford to lose a vital and eminent representation in the Oyo State House of Assembly, come 2027.
