Eid-ul-Adha 1447 AH: Senator Buhari felicitates Oyo Muslims, Urges prayers for safety of lives, properties

As Muslims in Oyo State joined millions of faithful across the world to celebrate the 1447 AH Eid-ul-Adha, Senator Buhari Abdulfatai of the Oyo North district has extended his warm felicitations to them as he called for prayers on the safety of the lives and properties of Nigerians.
The lawmaker, in a statement released on Tuesday in Ibadan, congratulated the Muslim Ummah in Oyo State on witnessing another Eid-ul-Adha, describing the occasion as a time of spiritual renewal, sacrifice, and community unity.
Senator Buhari noted that the celebration reflects the core Islamic values of obedience, faith, and compassion exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim, often described as the Father of faith.
Buhari said the period holds deep significance for every Muslim, as it commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his only son in submission to Allah’s command.
The legislator explained that the act of slaughtering the ram during Eid-ul-Adha symbolizes total obedience to Allah and also serves as a reminder for all Muslims to uphold sincerity, selflessness, and service to humanity in their daily lives.
According to Senator Buhari, the period reinforces the spirit of charity and brotherhood, as the sharing of meat with families, neighbors, and the less privileged strengthens social bonds and alleviates hardship.
Senator Buhari urged Muslims to use the festival to extend kindness beyond their immediate circles and to embody the virtues of forgiveness and generosity that the season demands.
“The spiritual benefits of the festival should translate into concrete actions for national development. Let us all remain steadfast in prayers for the country’s leaders, security agencies, and citizens so that peace and tranquility can reign again and again,” Senator Buhari stated.
Senator Buhari prayed that Allah accept the sacrifices and supplications of all Muslims during the 1447 Eid-ul-Adha and grant Nigeria lasting peace, tranquility, and prosperity.
