ORIIRE: Ibadan Southeast-I APC Candidate Hamzat Hails Tinubu, Security Agencies over Abductees’ Release

Honourable Wasiu Olanrewaju Hamzat, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ibadan Southeast Constituency—I in next year general elections, has expressed relief and gratitude following the rescue of Oriire abductees from kidnappers’ captivity, describing their freedom as a major victory for the affected families, the people of Oyo State, and Nigeria’s security efforts.
In a statement issued in Ibadan yesterday, the successful realtor, Hamzat, said the rescue of the pupils and their teachers were made possible through the decisive leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the coordinated support of relevant tiers of government alongside Nigeria’s security agencies.
“On behalf of myself, my political associates, and the good people of Ibadan Southeast Constituency—I, I thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his prompt directives and leadership that ensured that every effort was deployed to secure the release of our children and their teachers,” Hamzat stated.
The APC standardbearer also commended the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Police Force for their professionalism, courage, and sacrifice during the operation.
“Holding firm under difficult conditions, the officers demonstrated patriotism and resilience. Their actions in the bush, on the highways, and through intelligence gathering contributed directly to the successful outcome,” Hamzat hailed.
The young philanthropist extended his sympathy to the families of the released victims, noting that the period of uncertainty had been painful for residents of Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
The business tycoon, Hamzat, urged the families to remain strong as the victims begin recovery and reintegration and also appealed to residents in Oyo State to stay vigilant and continue cooperating with security agencies.
“Our work must continue to ensure that such incidents do not repeat. The victims should be supported with continued attention, medical care, and psychosocial support as they rebuild their lives,” Hamzat emphasised.
The APC chieftain reiterated his commitment to prioritising legislation on the robust security and welfare programmes and projects for his constituents and the entire people of Oyo State when elected.
