Oyo 2027: 85% of all APC aggrieved House of Assembly aspirants have agreed to work for the party” — Committee

The Reconciliation Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is saddled with the Oyo State House of Assembly. Aspirants of the party have revealed that at least 5% of all Oyo APC aggrieved House of Assembly aspirants have agreed to work for the landslide victory of the party.

Speaking at the stakeholders meeting and press conference which was held on Sunday at the International Conference Centre (ICC), University of Ibadan (UI), Aare Abisoye Fagade, the co-chairman of the committee, lauded all the aspirants who purchased the nomination forms, and they have expressed their willingness to work for the overall victory of APC.

“I can confidently tell you that 85% of All Oyo APC aggrieved House of Assembly aspirants have agreed to work for the party,” Fagade reiterated.

“I thank you all. Let’s continue making our great party more formidable for the electoral success of the APC in 2027,” Fagade encouraged while maintaining that, “With unity of purpose, collective efforts and united fronts, we shall all record victory, collectively achieve and jointly rejoice.

Earlier in his welcome address, Alhaji Mufutau Adisa Gbayawu, the committee chairman, lauded all Oyo APC leaders and concerned aspirants. “I greet us all here present. I greet all our leaders, women stalwarts and bigwigs of our great party, and most especially, Oyo APC 2027 House of Assembly aspirants. As we all know, the best thing is to enthrone progressive governance in Oyo State. Let’s keep on working together, and by His Grace, we shall all reap fruits of our labour.

We have toured nooks and crannies of Oyo State and met with the aspirants. Indeed, they’re wonderful people, and we’re proud of them. We have discussed it with them, and they have agreed to work for the party. Thank you all, and thanks to our leaders.

In his remarks, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, the chairman of the Oyo APC government reconciliation committee, urged the concerned aspirants and party faithful to be united and work together as an indivisible front. “APC! Progress. I greet our incoming governor and his deputy, Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (BSA) and Chief Michael Adesoji Adedeji (SOJ).  I greet the chairman and co-chair, Alhaji Mufutau Adisa Gbayawu and Aare Abisoye Fagade, for the well-done job, and I wholeheartedly greet everyone. By His Grace, we shall not labour in vain. We shall all reap the fruits of our labour.

“Please, let’s continue to be united and display the spirit of sportsmanship until we record a landslide victory. I have contested and won many times and lost once. So, I know how painful it is to miss a target in politics. So, I really commend you, and it’s a great thing to have a resolve to work together as one big family. Our Oyo APC train has moved, and the train is moving victoriously come 2027 general elections.

“Prof. Taoheed Adedoja, the co-chairman of the Oyo APC governorship reconciliation committee, commended the aspirants’ resilience and commitment to the progress of Oyo APC. “I commended all the aspirants. You’re not doing it alone; we are with you, and God is with you. You might not have been able to clinch the tickets, but better days are ahead, and your loyalty and contributions will be rewarded by His Grace.

Adedoja recalled, “I was the Action Congress (AC) guber candidate almost 20 years ago, but I lost the elections, but God has rewarded me with other great things. My people, as we all know, if you’re not in government, you’re not in government. That is it. So, let’s all join hands together and return progressive governance in Oyo State.

“The chances we have are very bright. Please, don’t let us miss it. By His Grace, victory is ours, and congratulations to us all in advance, because APC is forming the next government in Oyo State

Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the Oyo APC gubernatorial candidate and senator representing the Oyo South Senatorial District, in his remarks assured the aspirants, leaders and members of Oyo APC of running all-inclusive governance. “I humbly greet all our leaders and everyone here present. By His Grace, I assure you all that we are going to run all-inclusive governance in terms of age, gender, geopolitical zones, communities and others.

“To start with, I and our national chairman promised that the aspirants are going to be part of the campaign committee. As you can see, you are playing key roles in the electoral processes, and by His Grace, you have roles in the government when the people have us mandate to govern the state.

Across the Oke-Ogun zone and the entire state that we have toured, people overwhelmingly received us and showed us love; anything contrary to that is figments of our opponents’ imagination.

All reaffirmed that, “By His Grace, I am in support of administrative and financial autonomy of local government, and I am confident that some of you would also be parts of the processes as helmsmen at the grassroots level in our administration.

Dr Surajudeen Okeowo, the committee secretary, appreciated all our leaders and commended the aspirants for their spirit of sportsmanship.

A vote of thanks was given by a committee member, Hon. RamataLahi Oke-Makinde from Ibadanland. “By His Grace, we will win the election and form the next government in Oyo State.

“On behalf of all committee members, I greet us all, and I wish us all safe return to our various destinations,” Oke-Makinde submitted.

While speaking on behalf of other APC House of Assembly aspirants, Barr. Abdul-Rahman Olaiya from Oluyole State Constituency commended other aspirants for their magnanimity, and he lauded the committee for their efforts and the party leadership for the commitment to mutually beneficial arrangements and an inclusive approach.

Early in his introductory remarks, Hon. Sadare hinted that the party has made tremendous achievements: “We are making progress as a progressive party, and we thank all reconciliation committees for great and good well-done jobs.

In attendance were Dr Felicia Adekemi Opatunde, Hon. Segun Ajanaku, Hon. Raji Rasaki, Hon. Oladapo Babatunde, Hon. Mabel Williams, Hon. Mojeed Oloya, Alhaji Kehinde Balogun, Prince Gbade Lana, Hon. Tunde Oloyede, Chief Ademola Olawale (AGBA-DEMO), Hon. Joshua Oyebamiji (Atiku), Hon. Aderemi Ogundele, Hon. Kola Amoo, Alhaja Tinuade Adigun, Hon. Olusola Ogunjinmi, Hon. Sakiru Fajimi, and local government party chairmen, among several others.
