OYO: BSA’s 2027 Promise of Full LG Financial Autonomy Isn’t Politics—it’s Who Senator Alli Is: Why He’ll Fulfil His Campaign Promises | By Elder David Oluokun

Oyo State is at crossroads. Our 33 local governments have existed in name only for 7 years of maladministration of the deceitful PDP/ APM government of Governor Seyi Makinde. No money. No power. No development at the grassroots. 

That is why Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (BSA)’s declaration that he will grant full financial autonomy to local government administration in Oyo State if elected governor in 2027 is the biggest news for grassroots development in a decade. But more importantly, we can trust BSA to do it, because his antecedent is “I stand by my word and walk the talk.”

BSA DOES NOT MAKE EMPTY PROMISES:
In politics, everyone makes promises. Few keep them. 

Sen.  Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (BSA) is different. As Senator representing Oyo South, he told the people he would be a grassroots Senator. Today, he is. 
He promised to bring projects. He delivered classrooms, boreholes, PHC support, and solar lights. 
He promised empowerment. He delivered grants, training and starter packs to over 2,000 people with names and evidence.

When BSA says something, he writes it down. When he writes it down, he budgets for it. When he budgets for it, he executes it.

HE BELIEVES IN TRUE FEDERALISM AND GRASSROOTS POWER:

BSA has always argued that development cannot come from Agodi alone. It must start from the ward. 

In the Senate, he has supported bills and motions that strengthen Local Government autonomy. He believes LG Chairmen must be able to pay salaries, fix roads, build PHCs and schools without begging the state. 

Giving LG’s financial autonomy is not new to him. It is part of his political DNA. 
For BSA, a strong local government means a strong Oyo State.

HIS TRACK RECORD SHOWS HE RESPECTS INSTITUTIONS
Look at how BSA runs his office: 
•Transparent: Beneficiaries of his empowerment are documented. 
•Accountable: Projects are commissioned with community leaders present.   Decentralised: He engages all 9 LGA’s in Oyo South equally. No favouritism.

A man who respects institutions at the federal level will respect them at the state level. 
A man who empowers people directly will empower LG’s to empower more people.

WHY LG AUTONOMY UNDER BSA WILL WORK:
If elected in 2027, Governor BSA will;
•Release 100% of LG allocations directly to LG accounts as stipulated by law. No deductions. No joint account. 
•Strengthen oversight  so that LG funds are used for roads, primary healthcare, education and security. 
3.  Build capacity of LG chairmen and councillors to plan and execute projects.

The result: Tarred roads in Ibarapa, functional PHC’s in Oke-Ogun, clean markets in Ogbomoso and jobs for youths in every ward.

WHY OYO PEOPLE SHOULD BELIEVE HIM:
Oyo has heard “autonomy” promises before. But BSA is not “before”. 
He is the man who: 
•Said he would be accessible and he is. 
-•Said he would bring projects and he did. 
•He said he  would empower people and he did with evidence.

BSA’s word is his bond.
2027 IS THE YEAR OF GRASSROOTS
With President Bola Ahmed Tinubu pushing LG autonomy at the federal level, Oyo State needs a governor who will key in, not fight it.

Sen. Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (BSA) is that Governor. 
He has said it. His antecedent proves he will do it.

Vote BSA in 2027 and let power, financial resources and development return to our Local Government. 
Let our Chairman be able to work. Let our ward feel government.
