Oyo Central: Egbeda Progressive Association Pledges Support for Senator Akintunde’s 2027 Re-election Bid (PHOTOS)

The Egbeda Progressive Association has reaffirmed its support for Senator Yunus Abiodun Akintunde’s bid to retain the Oyo Central senatorial seat in 2027, presenting him with campaign materials during a solidarity visit.

At the meeting which was held today at the parliamentarian’s residence, the association members highlighted what they described as Akintunde’s good record in office and pledged to expand grassroots mobilisation for his campaign. The group leaders said they would take Akintunde’s message to residents across wards and communities in Egbeda Local Government and beyond.

In an address, the group’s leaders respectively pledged their support for Akintunde and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections. The stalwarts said the association’s network in Egbeda Local Government would help it engage communities and strengthen mobilisation across the area and beyond.

While responding, Akintunde thanked the association’s leaders for their commitment and grassroots work. He praised the group’s approach to community mobilisation and described it as well-organised, with effective leadership and strong ties to local residents.

Akintunde urged members to remain focused on the 2027 election, work with other party members and other stakeholders in their communities, and continue engaging residents. Akintunde also recognised the group’s efforts to mobilise support for his bid, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Sharafadeen Alli and other APC candidates.
