Oyo Central: Senator Yunus Akintunde Completes N25M Traders Financial Support Scheme in 11 LGAs(PHOTO)
Senator Yunus Akintunde, the Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has successfully concluded the ‘Oyo Central Traders Financial Support Scheme’ with the final phase of the programme held in Egbeda and Lagelu Local Government Areas of the state.
This completion, according to the Senator’s media desk, marks the end of a district-wide initiative through which 25 million naira was disbursed to support traders across all eleven Local Government Areas of Oyo Central Senatorial District.
Hon. Biodun Adeyemo, a close ally of Senator Akintunde who coordinated the programme, said the programme was intentionally structured to strengthen small businesses, boost market activities, and provide timely financial support to hardworking traders who drive local commerce.
“This initiative builds on previous interventions that strived to empower traders and boost local commerce across Oyo Central,” Adeyemo explained. “Prior to this, we launched a revolving loan scheme for traders in selected Local Government Areas and also provided outright grants to selected traders across all eleven Local Government Areas.
Adeyemo added that the Senator Akintunde remains committed to implementing practical programmes that create real economic opportunities and improve the livelihoods of constituents.
Adeyemo expressed sincere gratitude to Iyaloja of Oyo State, Alhaja (Chief) Saratu Aduke, the State Executive Council of Market Leaders, Local Government market executives, and members of the distribution team for their dedication, transparency, and role in ensuring the support reached the intended beneficiaries.
“Their partnership and tireless efforts have ensured that this support reached the intended beneficiaries,” Adeyemo said while hinting that,“We look forward to continued collaboration in advancing the welfare of traders across Oyo Central.
