Oyo North 2027: Ogunesan Takes ‘Thank You Visit’ to Itesiwaju LGA, Receives Blessings, Support

The Oyo North Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief (Mrs) Olawumi Ogunesan (HOO), has continued her consultation and thank-you tour across the senatorial district with a visit to Itesiwaju Local Government Area, where she received warm greetings, prayers, blessings and assurances of support from traditional rulers, religious leaders, party members, stakeholders and residents.

The visit, which was characterised by a warm reception and an atmosphere of unity and goodwill, began in Okaka, where HOO was received by APC members and stakeholders, including the immediate past Chairman of Itesiwaju Local Government, Hon. Ojo Akintola, and his predecessor, Hon. Niyi Adeagbo.

As part of her mission to seek prayers and blessings ahead of the 2027 elections, HOO visited the First Baptist Church, Okaka, where she met with the leadership and executives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). She expressed appreciation for their prayers and support, while the Christian leaders prayed for wisdom, divine guidance, success and victory in her political journey.

Ogunesan subsequently visited the Otu Central Mosque, where she met with the Chief Imam, Imams and members of the League of Alfas. The Islamic leaders offered prayers for her, sought divine guidance for her endeavours and expressed their goodwill and support.

Ogunesan also paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Oniro of Otu, Oba Sunday Oyetunde Adepoju Ayilola III, Chairman of the Traditional Institutions in Itesiwaju.

The visit brought together other distinguished traditional rulers, including the Olugbo of Igbojaye, Oba Zacheaus Olatunji Oyetunji; Eleyinpo of Ipapo, Oba Yekeen Ademola Abioye; Onibise of Otu, Oba Abiodun Oyerinde Owolabi Oyekunleyin I; and Onisia of Otu, Oba Isiaka Oyelekan Ayantunde Olaluwoye I.

The traditional rulers took turns to commend Ogunesan for her courage, commitment and dedication to the overall development of Oke-Ogun, particularly her efforts towards the upliftment of traditional institutions in the region. They offered words of encouragement and prayed for God’s favour, protection, wisdom and a successful outcome in the forthcoming electoral contest.

Before proceeding to the Otu Town Hall, Ogunesan made a brief stop at the Hausa/Fulani settlement in Otu, where she interacted with members of the community and sought their prayers, goodwill and support. She reaffirmed her commitment to an inclusive political process in which every community has a voice and a place.

Ogunesan thereafter proceeded to the Otu Town Hall, where she met with APC members, leaders and other stakeholders. In an emotional show of appreciation, HOO thanked the people of Itesiwaju for the warm reception accorded her, describing the welcome and solidarity as a clear demonstration of their confidence in the party and commitment to its continued progress and success.

Ogunesan acknowledged the sacrifices and loyalty of party members, stressing that their support remains a major source of strength and encouragement. She assured them that their confidence would not be taken for granted and pledged to remain accessible, responsive and committed to the interests of the people.

Ogunesan further visited the Isese leadership in Itesiwaju, where she sought their support and prayers. She emphasised the importance of unity among the various religious and traditional communities, noting that the collective prayers and goodwill of the people are vital to the success of the journey ahead.

Throughout the visit, Ogunesan repeatedly expressed gratitude to the people of Itesiwaju for their continued support and solidarity. She assured them that, if elected, she would remain a strong and dependable voice for Oyo North, committed to championing the interests, development and wellbeing of the people.

Ogunesan also called for continued support for all APC candidates in the 2027 elections, including President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; herself, as the Oyo North Senatorial candidate; and Hon. Saheed Alaran, the governorship candidate; Senator Sarafadeen Alli and his deputy; as well as all APC candidates for the House of Assembly.

Ogunesan expressed confidence that, with the collective prayers, support and votes of the people, the APC candidates would emerge victorious in the forthcoming elections. She pledged that an APC victory would be dedicated to delivering greater development, stronger representation, meaningful opportunities and improved dividends of democracy to the people of Itesiwaju, Oyo North and Oyo State.

Ogunesan thanked the people, religious leaders, traditional rulers, community leaders and APC stakeholders for their hospitality, prayers and unwavering support, assuring them that the journey ahead would be one of collective effort, divine guidance, renewed hope and victory for the people.
