Oyo South 2027: Ajimobi Meets Ibarapa APC Leaders, Canvasses Support for Senatorship, Tinubu’s Reelection

A leading 2027 Oyo South senatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Ikolaba Olubadan of Ibadan Land, Chief Wasiu Ajimobi, has met with APC leaders and key stakeholders in the Ibarapa zone of Oyo State to consolidate efforts on the already initiated consultation drives and build on an age-long relationship he has with the region.
Speaking at the event, Chief Ajimobi, former Honourable-elect of the Oyo State House of Assembly (1997) on the platform of the defunct United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP), expressed gratitude to party leadership and solicited their support for his senatorial ambition.

“My brothers, mothers and all leaders here present, I humbly appear before you to once again inform you of my aspiration to represent our great senatorial district, Oyo South, come 2027. I strongly count on your support, and once the mandate is given, I promise never to let you down.”

Ajimobi further described himself as a product of the people and reiterated his commitment to service. “I’m one of you. We have had an age-long relationship. I remain my humble self. My philosophy remains people, people and people. By God’s grace, I will serve you, and I will serve the entire Oyo South meritoriously. With His Mercy, I will never let you down.
While canvassing support for President Tinubu, Ajimobi described Mr President as a “heaven-sent leader”, stating that APC stakeholders in Oyo State would continue to rally support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Ajimobi used the avenue to appreciate Tinubu for giving every card-carrying and aspiring member of APC equal opportunity to obtain expression of interest and nomination forms and participate in the party primaries of APC.
Ajimobi also urged Oyo South APC stakeholders to remain united and focused toward the party’s electoral success come 2027.
In separate remarks, party leaders commended Chief Ajimobi’s character and track record.
Honourable Chief Fatai Adesina Salau praised Ajimobi as a reliable politician who has never betrayed public trust or abused people’s confidence reposed in him.
Hon Tunji Omolewu described Ajimobi as a tested and trusted leader with a record of meaningful service.
Hon Jacob Akintola also celebrated Ajimobi’s simplicity, accessibility, and empathy, assuring him of strong grassroots support.
Other leaders, respectively, echoed similar commendations, emphasising Chief Ajimobi’s commitment to people-oriented representation and human capital development.
