Chief Wasiu Ajimobi, the Ikolaba Olubadan of Ibadan Land and leading APC 2027 Oyo South senatorial aspirant has welcomed leaders and delegates to National Convention

Chief Ajimobi — the Ikolaba Olubadan of Ibadan Land and a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the 2027 Oyo South senatorial seat — warmly welcomed party leaders, stakeholders and delegates attending the APC National Convention in Abuja.

More than 8,453 delegates from across Nigeria converged on the capital for what Ajimobi called a landmark gathering. He described the convention — which includes the affirmation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s candidacy for 2027 and other major party determinations — as a defining moment for the APC’s future direction.

In a release from his media office, Ajimobi, who chairs the Investment Committee of the Governing Council at Kaduna Polytechnic and holds a master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, commended the National Working Committee and the Convention Planning Committee for their careful planning and for delivering a transparent, well-organised event.

“This convention is more than a meeting; it testifies to our party’s unity, strength and democratic maturity,” Ajimobi said. “I welcome our leaders, delegates and stakeholders to this important occasion. Your attendance demonstrates our shared commitment to the APC’s continuity and progress.”

Ajimobi urged all participants to observe decorum and to ensure a peaceful, credible exercise that truly reflects the will of party members. He voiced firm support for President Tinubu’s re-election, saying the Renewed Hope Agenda has produced tangible results and that Nigerians are ready for its continuation.

Ajimobi expressed confidence that the convention would yield united, capable leadership to guide the party to broader electoral success, and called on delegates to remain focused on strengthening the APC and making decisions that reflect the aspirations of its nationwide membership.

“As we proceed, let unity of purpose and a common vision guide our actions. With the nation watching, I am confident the APC will again show why it remains Nigeria’s foremost political party,” Ajimobi submitted.
