PHOTOS: Nigeria’s Ambassador to Austria, Dr Florence Ajimobi, Presents Letters of Credence to President Van der Bellen
Nigeria has officially begun a new diplomatic chapter with the formal commencement of duties by Chief (Dr) Florence Ajimobi, Nigeria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Austria.
Ajimobi, in a statement marking the occasion, said she presented her Letters of Credence to His Excellency Dr Alexander Van der Bellen, the Federal President of the Republic of Austria. She described the ceremony as a formal step in beginning her assignment in the European country.
The ambassador expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the trust and confidence reposed in her for the “important national assignment”.
According to Dr Ajimobi, she accepted the responsibility with humility and a strong sense of duty, committed to representing Nigeria with dignity and purpose.
Ajimobi said Nigeria and Austria have enjoyed longstanding diplomatic relations, adding that the relationship offers major opportunities for deeper cooperation. She highlighted areas including trade and investment, innovation, sustainable development, and improved people-to-people relations.
As she takes up the new assignment, Dr Ajimobi pledges to work toward opening “new frontiers of mutually beneficial cooperation” and further strengthening friendship between the two countries.
The ambassador affirmed her commitment to give the assignment her very best, serving the interests of Nigeria and Nigerians with dedication and honour.
