Six Years Ago, We Lost the Architect of Modern Oyo State: A True Leader, Father and Mentor | Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan, MFR

On this remembrance, we return with heavy hearts to honor His Excellency, Sen. Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi, the former Governor of Oyo State, whose impact remains written in the fabric of our great party, the direction of public service, and the enduring lessons he left behind.
Today, your footprints are everywhere.
They are visible not only in the physical projects and structures that stand as testimony to purposeful governance, but also in the values you cultivated: discipline, integrity, commitment to development, and the firm belief that leadership must translate into tangible improvement for the people.

Many of us did not only witness your leadership, we benefited from it. Many of us you trained are still out there.

We are serving, building, making decisions, leading institutions, and contributing in different ways, working quietly and steadily to justify the trust you placed in us. Our efforts are not just continuation; they are proof of the legacy you invested in people, not only in systems. Every time we rise to meet responsibilities with courage and character, we make you proud.
Oyo APC, the APC family, and Nigeria itself miss you.
We miss you as a statesman who carried himself with purpose and foresight. We miss you as a mentor who saw beyond the moment, guided beyond appearances, and inspired beyond politics. We also miss you as a father figure—someone whose counsel strengthened hearts and whose life demonstrated that leadership is measured by impact and service.
Rest on, great leader. Rest on, father and mentor.
May the Almighty God grant you eternal rest, peaceful repose, and the reward of a life well spent. Your legacy will never fade; it will continue to inspire the next generation of problem-solvers, nation-builders, and administrators who understand that true service is always bigger than office.
“Koseleri of Oyo State! Rest on, Sir!”
Signed: Chief Mrs. Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan, JP, MFR, HoS.
