Coordinator for the Forum of former Council Vice Chairmen in Oyo State, also known as G-68 and the Renewed Hope Ambassador for Ogbomoso North Local Government Area, Chief Ademola Olawale, popularly known as “Agba-Demo,” has knocked Engr Seyi Makinde and alleged that the governor has destroyed grassroots politics in Oyo State.

Agba-Demo rallied support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his reelection bid, the Oyo APC governorship candidate, Barrister Sharafadeen Alli, and all other APC candidates. He commended President Tinubu for the economic reforms.

Speaking on a television programme titled “Lagbo Oselu,” anchored by Josiah Adebayo, Agba-Demo positioned APC as the party to record landslide victory in Oyo State, and across the country, come 2027.

Agba-Demo noted that the country was already in an economic mess before the emergence of President Tinubu. He maintained that previous administrations did not get things right, while the current administration is formulating policies to put the country back into good shape and avert future economic crises.

Agba-Demo said the removal of fuel subsidy and the harmonisation of foreign exchange windows have done good to the country’s economy. He argued that, given the country’s resources, the government should do more to improve production and reduce hardship.

Agba-Demo said President Tinubu’s pro-people policies have begun to have a positive impact on the economy by creating opportunities for investment, and he mentioned companies such as “Mitchellen,” Volkswagen of Nigeria, and others that he claimed could return and contribute to national development.

Agba-Demo said government is not harsh on the people, but that some citizens were frustrating efforts by failing to support reforms consistently. In particular, he alleged that oil marketers hesitate to reduce PMS when oil prices drop in the world market.

Agba-Demo stated that the good road network initiated by the Tinubu-led administration will make businesses flourish. He also mentioned the need to revive the Ajaokuta steel industry and the power sector, saying those steps will contribute greatly to growth and development, and expressed confidence that things will be better before the 2027 election.

Regarding the Oriire abduction, Agba-Demo lauded the government and security agencies for their efforts that resulted in bringing back the teachers and pupils without paying ransom for their release. He stated that the action shows the government is discouraging terrorism and criminal acts in the country.

The politician further commended President’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Chief Sunday Dare for showing care and love to the freed teachers and children, saying the people of Ogbomoso were satisfied with Dare’s generosity.

Agba-Demo explained that Sunday Dare paid 2,200,000 naira into the Teaching Hospital account in Ogbomoso, which was to share 50,000 naira per person among the 44 released abductees, just as transport fare while he hinted that the presidential spokesperson promised additional supports.

Agba-Demo said Sunday Dare assured that the government would reach out to the families of the deceased, and he urged the teaching hospital to write to the Health Minister so the pupil diagnosed with a heart problem would receive adequate health care from the federal government. He commended the initiative and called for continued support for the administration’s efforts.
