OFC: Skimeh records major reconciliation breakthrough as lawmaker meets Laoye, Fastlane • Trio form united front ahead of 2027

Tunde Adeyemo,
Ibadan, Oyo State.
Rt. Hon. Prince Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi (Skimeh), Member, House of Representatives (MHR) and APC candidate for Oyo Federal Constituency, has described recent developments within the party as a “major breakthrough” in reconciliation efforts ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to a statement obtained by this newspaper on July 27, Adeyemi hinted that he met with Hon. Babatope Aremo Laoye, who had contested the APC primary election against him, but “willingly jettisoned his ambition in the overall interest of our great party, the APC.”
Adeyemi further stated that Laoye’s political group and Team Skimeh held a joint meeting at the Mini Hall beside Asset Petrol Filling Station, Kosobo Junction, Oyo, where they “resolved to work assiduously for the success of APC and to ensure the party’s victory in the Federal Constituency.

The statement also noted that Hon. Ogunniyi Fastlane, another aspirant who contested for the House of Representatives seat, demonstrated what Adeyemi described as “remarkable political maturity” by withdrawing a court case instituted against the APC following the primary election in which Adeyemi emerged as winner.
Adeyemi said the two developments reflect genuine reconciliation efforts aimed at strengthening the APC and improving the party’s prospects in Oyo Federal Constituency, and by extension, Oyo State.
Signed: Rt. Hon. Prince Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi,
Member, House of Representatives (MHR), Oyo Federal Constituency & 2027 APC Candidate for the Federal Constituency.
