Refrain From Defaming Ajiboye or Face Legal Consequences—Adelabu’s Aide Warns Against Associating PA with Sister, Nephews’ Kidnap

He cites police exoneration.
Comrade Femi Awogboro, the media aide to the immediate past minister of power and 2027 APC gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has warned individuals associating Ajiboye Sangogade (Aji), Adelabu’s personal assistant, with the recent kidnapping of the ex-minister’s sister and twin nephews in Ibadan to desist from the fabricated narrative.
A statement by Awogboro said Ajiboye Sangogade has no involvement in the kidnapping incident, warning those peddling the rumor to desist or face legal actions.

The statement described the allegations against Adelabu’s PA as false, malicious, defamatory, and uncalled for. He stated that those pointing accusing fingers at Sangogade were only trying to tarnish his image and good reputation.

According to him, the recent press statement and interview by the public relations officer of the Oyo State Police Command, Ayanlade Olayinka, concerning the kidnapping incident, exonerated Sangogade (Aji) from the allegation, as his name was never mentioned in the police briefing as part of the kidnapping syndicate.
Awogboro further queried those spreading the rumor to point out where the police public relations officer mentioned Ajiboye Sangogade in his briefing. He stressed that the police spokesperson only mentioned one Segun in connection with the case and never linked Ajiboye Sangogade to the incident in any way.
Awogboro argued that those alleging Sangogade’s involvement are doing so to score political points. He said they should note that everything is not politics.
He said their “lies and cook-up stories” have been exposed by the police account of the incident. This same set of people are pathological liars and are known for spreading unfounded, malicious, frivolous, and defamatory allegations against Adelabu and his people. That is their trademark, and they have failed.
“This is not their first time of peddling lies and rumors, so we want to urge the public and party members not to fall for their tricks.
“It has come to our notice that some individuals, who are enemies of progress and of the state, are peddling rumors that the personal assistant to Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Ajiboye Songogade, orchestrated the kidnapping of Chief Adebayo Adelabu’s sister and nephews in Ibadan,” the statement read.
The aide further described Songogade as a man of good reputation with impeccable pedigree and antecedents.
Awogboro insisted that Songogade could not and would not be involved in such an act, adding that those spreading the fake news are only trying in vain by defaming Songogade’s impeccable image.
“We therefore reject the claim in totality because we know he doesn’t know or have a hand in the incident as being speculated,” Awogboro stated.
Awogboro warned that any further attempt to tarnish Songogade’s image and reputation would be rejected vehemently, as the camp would ensure that whoever is found guilty is brought to justice.
